This 6-week (September 11 – October 16) course is a chance for junior handlers to build the skills needed for Agility, Rally, Obedience, and more.

Focusing on core foundations every dog needs: attention and focus, self-control, and clear communication and handling, this program sets up dog and handler teams for long-term success in any sport they choose. Build the skills now… shine in the ring later.

This program is open to junior handlers, generally between 10 – 16. Classes are limited to 6 dog / handler teams with one dog per handler. Those without a dog, or whose dog is determined not to be suited to a particular discipline, may work with experienced club dogs so that all juniors have the opportunity to develop proper handling skills. Not all dogs are suited to every sport, some thrive in Rally but not Agility or Obedience, and the early weeks of the program allow time to assess each dog’s temperament and comfort level before progressing to Agility work.

Requirements for Participant Dogs

All dogs participating in the program must be healthy and in generally good condition, up to date on vaccinations, currently licensed, and comfortable working around other dogs. Dogs do not need to be spayed or neutered; however, bitches in season will be excused from class for the duration of their heat. Club loaner dogs are held to the same health and vaccination standards.
